Talk:Windows NT 4

Why 'NT'?
With Windows NT 4, many have thought that the letters 'NT' were an acronym for New Technology. However, in reality, the NT came from the fact that when Microsoft began working on the Windows project, they were testing on a prototype 32-bit processor, the N10 (or N-Ten). While the N10 processor never materialized on the market, Microsoft kept the nomenclature with the Windows brand, and shortened it to simply NT.
Therefore, those who say that Windows 2000, which was presented as being 'Built on NT Technology', repeated the word 'technology' twice, are mistaken.
