A blog (or weblog) is a web-based "diary" (every entry is dated). They are used for every imaginable topic. Blogs became popular due to the easiness of writing in them. Only the text itself is necessary, the rest is usually done automatically by the blog software. Then the entries are presented as a webpage, beginning with the newest entry on top - and so on. A further blog speciality is to enable everyone to write comments for existing entries.
